We woke up in the Airbnb feeling rested and ready for a full day of Dutch living. We decided to walk to Maastricht University to go a coffee shop called Bandito Espresso. Walking onto a college campus in a different country was a trip, man. I expected it to be like an American college campus but it was way more relaxed and gave more of the commuter college vibe. We walked through some of the buildings and admired the steep marvel that is the Dutch staircase!

We took our coffee on a cute ass little walk and then Krissy and her girlfriend picked us up to take us to the three-country point in Vaalserberg and my mind was blown! It was so neat to be in the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium just by taking a step. We went up to the top of the observation tower to see the view. The woman at the ticket counter probably made fun of us because I was hyped. LOL
Krissy dropped us off at our Airbnb in Maastricht so we naturally found our way to a Dutch McDonald's to try their vegetarian McChicken and burger. The veggie McChicken was a 10/10 but the burger was so-so. We paid much more for McDonald's here than we ever would back home. We kept on walking all over and stumbled upon old churchyards and buildings - our favorite thing. We even hit the holy grail when we went to the Boekhandel Dominicanen where they have an entire bookstore inside of a Dominican Church that was built in the 13th century. A must visit if you're in Maastricht!!

After a little while Krissy and her girlfriend came back to Maastricht and we went to Cafe De Buren in for drinks. One thing that amazed me about this place was that EVERYONE was outside and enjoying the fresh air on a somewhat chilly March Monday. You'd never see that in America. Here, all of the outdoor spaces had warmers on patio umbrellas making you nice and comfortable. I was blown away by that and would 100% welcome all of that in America.
We had dinner at La Cubanita where we shared tapas and dessert. Again, the cost was about the same as it would be back home for four. I was beyond happy that I got to see my best friend and meet her lovely gf! <3
