We got up very early in order to make good time on our Voyage to the Falls Boat Tour. What we didn't anticipate was the jaunt from the large parking lot to the Voyage of the Falls location. We also weren't aware that if we missed our time slot, we would have been welcome onto the next boat tour at the next half hour. Because of that, we ran from the parking lot all the way down to the boat dock area. Not a wise choice! While I felt terrible for about fifteen minutes afterwards, the Voyage to the Falls tour was 100% worth every penny. We saw Niagara Falls in all of its glory and after we walked all throughout the Canadian side. After having lunch at the car, we made our way back to the United States and continued through northern New York. In Speculator, we stopped at the Mountain Market and got some pizza and soda - it was a cute little gas station in the Adirondack Mountains. As soon as we left Speculator it began to rain. Soon the light rain turned into heavy rain and some of the roads had signs that said "road closed ahead" - clearly this area of New York and Vermont had dealt with heavy flooding and some of the roads were beginning to wash away. We used our spotty reception to check road closure websites and tried our best to navigate through to Burlington, Vermont. While the constant back tracking from road closures lead to an additional couple of hours on the road, we made it to Burlington at midnight! We were exhausted.
