We left the Vrbo in Burlington and headed out through New Hampshire toward Bar Harbor, Maine. We wanted to say that we did an activity in New Hampshire so we decided to drive to Franconia to hike Artist's Bluff with our PB&J sandwiches. We parked at the big gravel lot and made our way up to Artist's Bluff. It was a lovely sunny day in July and we had our road trip sack lunch overlooking the gorgeous White Mountains. On our way into Maine we stopped at Yaya's Mountain Market for gas and some lady in the gas station couldn't get the gas to pump. The lady working at Yaya's was pretty rude to the customer so I offered to go out and help her pump her gas. Being from the Midwest comes in handy because we were able to get it to work. LOL.

We made our way into Bar Harbor and were surprised with how quaint and tiny it seemed. We splurged on this leg of the trip and got the Cadillac Mountain Suite at the Acadia Hotel. While it did cost quite a bit of money - it was our anniversary so we thought it appropriate. One thing about old hotels is their lack of elevators so the only thing we found hilarious was hauling our big wheeled cooler up the stairs without making too much noise. We enjoyed our suite and went to bed anticipating an early morning since we were able to get tickets to see the sunrise atop Cadillac Mountain - the first place in America to see it!
